1980s vendo Pepsi machine
I picked this 1980s vendo Pepsi machine as a broken machine that still got cold which was the main thing I was looking for in a soda machine because I really didn’t want to mess with refrigerants and compressors.
Right off the bat it wasn’t accepting coins so I decided to take a look and I found that on the coinco 9800b coin mechanism the eject flap was broken at the hinge making it so everything was slightly off so the coins couldn’t make it down. Luckily I found the coin mechanism from the bluetooth SuperSound2 had the same eject flap so I was able to swap the flap since that coin mechanism was no longer being used. After swapping that it was able to accept quarters and dimes no problem but it wouldn’t accept nickels so I took the coin accepter apart and found a dead stink bug in the nickel path so after putting it all back together it works! And I was able to adjust the price from a minimum of 5 cents to a max of $1.55. next issue is both lights no longer work in the front and after taking them out I found they are a no longer used size of fluorescent bulb so I can’t find new bulbs anywhere so I figure I’ll have to do some custom lights LED lighting inside. But for now it’s working and I can fill it up with soda and put it in the “arcade” room.
