Operation wolf cabinet finished!
So in my last update I said it was ready for paint but wait isn’t the operation wolf vinyl? Well that was the issue new vinyl was going to be over $200 and trying to keep this cabinet on a budget and the artwork part isn’t in to bad of shape considering the shape the rest of the cabinet was in. So I decided to just repaint the black parts there at the bottom I ended up using a semi-gloss black which in the photo Bellow it doesn’t look like it matches but that’s it while it’s still wet and after it drys it became a almost perfect match.
Now you may have noticed it’s on its back so I haven’t been able to work on the back yet but before I can stand it up it needs feet but I decided since this cabinet weights around 300 pounds I decided to go with wheels so I could move it around without damaging it or the floor so I ended up using 6 wheels so it’s plenty stable. Now it’s time to work on the back ,
And as you can see the back is going to take a lot of work and a lot of Bondo
I decided to keep the original wheel holes to keep it more original even though the new bottom doesn’t have the cutouts for the wheels. After a lot more sanding which this time didn’t turn my garage into a dust kingdom because I was smart and rolled it out of the garage this time the back was ready for paint.
And now it’s finished well the cabinet is, I still don’t have sound but I’m working on that and have ordered a new z80 so we shall see if that is the issue when it shows up I also ordered a reproduction marquee since the previous owner kept the old marquee so we will have to see if it fits. But for now the cabinet is very much playable and very fun
It’s definitely not perfect but its better then it was before when it didn’t want to even stand up by itself
