I picked up this super cheap vending machine that the seller said didn’t work and well it didn’t, I could see a weld was broken on the door but when I opened it up I knew this was going to be interesting, the controller for the bill accepter was dangling and the coin mechanism wasn’t in the right spot.

After looking around I found a broken fuse holder, so I bridged that (I know very safe) and it turned on but nothing is that easy. First the coin accepter.

It wasn’t accepting coins, so I took it apart and found one of the light sensors for measuring the coins had fallen out of place, so I re-glued that and then it worked. You could put in coins and make a selection then it would give you change back. But the bill accepter still didn’t work it would try to eat the dollar then it would spit it out, so I took it apart and cleaned the belts and bill sensors but when I put it back together it wouldn’t even try to eat the bills and have me a 6 blink error code that the machine says is “6 blinks or more reset or service required” which is clearly a lot of help.

I luckily found a manual online that said that 6 blinks means the homing sensor is not working, so I opened it up again and this time found the homing sensor and cleaned it and this time it worked perfectly every time. So now the machine works, so I got the door welded back together now I just have to put the door back on and clean everything.
